Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2 Seatbox Review
A great compact fishing seat box with ample storage, a back rest and adjustable legs - but I can't shake the feeling i've seen this design somewhere before...
It's Friday and I dive into the land of fishing boxes again, and this week I appear to have stumbled across yet another hybrid chair/box combo from NYTRO. When I first saw the Impax Comfibox CB2 Seatbox I immediately thought of the Daiwa D-VEC seat box - in fact, I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out what the differences are.
Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2
Daiwa D-VEC Seat Box
In this review, I will be covering each of the listed specications.
Who are NYTRO?
As reported by Angling International, NYTRO is a new brand launched in late 2022 from the team behind "Sonik Sports" who already sell Fishing Clothing, Carp Fishing Equipment, Sea Fishing tackle etc.
“Nytro is a new brand which has been designed by anglers for anglers, with the emphasis on delivering total consumer satisfaction. Whether that is on price, looks or performance, you can be confident a NYTRO product offers the best value money can buy.”

New for 2023
The NYTRO IMPAX COMFIBOX CB2 is brand new for 2023, and although there isn't too much information about the box, I will do my best to describe each of the listed features in detail based on the limited specifications available.
Manufacturers Specifications
- Stable frame design
- Black X36 aluminium legs
- Flexible mud feet
- Padded seat
- Padded adjustable shoulder strap
- Telescopic X36 legs
Ultra-Comfortable Padded Reclining Backrest
The standout feature of the Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2 Seatbox is its padded reclining backrest. This supportive design is perfect for those longer sessions on the bank, ensuring you stay comfortable while waiting for that next big bite.
Many of you already know, I am a huge fan of comfort (must be my age), so any seatbox that can relieve lower back pain, is definitely a star in my books.
Spacious Storage with a 13cm Deep Base Compartment
The Impax Comfibox CB2 comes with a 13cm deep base compartment to store small pieces of tackle and gear.
The storage section can be opened from either the front or back, and secured into place using the replaceable (see below) catches.
Stable Frame Design and Adjustable X36 Aluminium Legs
Built to withstand the rigours of fishing, the Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2 features a stable frame design and black X36 aluminium legs. These legs provide a solid foundation for the seatbox, and their telescopic design allows for easy adjustments to suit your preferred height.
Like Daiwa's System 36 legs, the round 36mm legs on the CB2 will allow for accessories such as pole rests, feeder arms etc to attach without any adaptors or modifications.
Flexible Mud Feet for Uneven / Wet Pegs
No matter the terrain, the Impax Comfibox CB2 has you covered with its flexible mud feet. These cleverly designed feet adapt to uneven surfaces, ensuring your seatbox remains stable even on the most challenging banks.
Padded Seat and Adjustable Shoulder Strap
As if the reclining backrest wasn't enough, the Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2 also boasts a padded seat for added comfort. Plus, the padded adjustable shoulder strap makes it a breeze to transport your seatbox to and from your favourite fishing spots.
Additional Spare Catches / Hinges
Included in your seat box are 2 spare seat catches which can be replaced by using a standard Philips head screwdriver. As any seatbox owner knows, when a catch or hinge breaks, it's pretty much over for the seat box unless you're able to source a set of spares.
When checking the Nytro fishing website for this box, I found the text rather confusing as to what changes they specifically made to the catches:
We reversed the system to prevent the system from getting trapped between the seat and the frame
I really do like how Nytro have included spares - I am a huge fan of the "right to repair" movement that's been brewing - so this is another star for me.
How does it compare the Daiwa D-VEC Seat Box?
I'd be lying if I didn't feel that NYTRO have taken several aspects of the D-VEC (inspired maybe?) and just changed a few of the colours. The most obvious difference is the amount of storage each box offers with Daiwa offering a slightly deeper base.
If we set aside the colours and branding, I feel we are looking at pretty much identical boxes, however it's far too early to know what the longevity is like on the Impax Comfibox CB2 box.
Pricing
I'll be absolutely honest, I fully expected this box to be considerably cheaper when compared to the Daiwa D-VEC, and felt a little disappointed to see it was actually costing more than the "similar" Daiwa box. With that being said, below are the current prices March/April 2023.
Retailer | Price |
---|---|
Angling Direct | £149.95 |
eBay | £149.95 |
Very | £154.99 |
Conclusion
Like the Daiwa D-VEC, the Nytro Impax Comfibox CB2 Seatbox looks to be a great seatbox/chair hybrid that offers good amounts of storage for those who want to fish fairly light.
The backrest is a welcome addition to any seat box, especially for anglers like myself who groan when they stand up after lengthy days at the commercial.
I also really do like how Nytro include a couple of spare catches in the package just in case one breaks or gets damaged whilst transporting your seatbox.
I will revisit this review in a few months.
